Characters are a product of their society through upholding its way of life or rejecting it, and how characters style themselves is a manifestation of their relationship with society.
Keyscenes were used to support the narrative of Taryn's character arc and show wider worldbuilding. Methuselah’s Tank pre-apocalypse.
Sketched movement studies helped to show the changes in personality Taryn undergoes, as well as ensuring the costume was successful from different angles.

Bachelor of Design with Honours

This project explores the consequences of immortality through the design of a hero character’s experience of a nanotech apocalypse. Chasm City was a nanotech-powered utopia, until the Melding Plague decimated the city. Taryn grows from privileged naivete to a vengeful rebel. Use of animal allegory shows Taryn’s relationship with her corrupt, immortal society through her costume’s transformation from a jellyfish, to a chrysalis, and finally a torn butterfly wing.
