BTS of Woman.
Bachelor of Creative Media Production
This year, I worked across two major projects to gain experience across a wider field than one project alone. As Producer on the dance film, Can’t Beat Wellington on a Good Night, I experienced a completely different process to that of a typical narrative-driven piece. On Woman., my role of Production Manager gave me insight to the details and intricacies of effective project management.
Can’t Beat Wellington on a Good Night is a bold and picturesque journey of two strangers who, overwhelmed by the chaos of the city, slowly fall into sync through the language of dance. Captivated by the nightlife of Wellington and fueled by emotion, can the community be the help they need to confront their fears?
Woman. By some twisted miracle, Eva is pregnant. Her head spins as she fears this may be her only shot at motherhood - the risk of infertility constantly looms over her due to her endometriosis, but so does the high likelihood of pregnancy complications and further agony. She confides in her flatmate Angel, facing a difficult conversation with her friend who cannot biologically carry children as a trans-woman.
