In Dragonfly Tavern we set out to bring a fantasy world to life - elemental reactions and artwork harkening back to the likes of classic Pokemon games -, to present to a modern audience with a new perspective. For this project I adopted the role of game designer and found that it was something I found both challenging and enjoyable. I feel proud of the work I did on this project and am excited to learn so much more - both about the role itself and how we can tell stories through it.
Dragonfly Tavern is a top down pixel art action-adventure game set in a fantasy world. You play as a young orc who goes on an journey to learn elemental magic to save his village from the elves. The complexity arises from the different effects elements have on each other, which can be used to the players advantage, rewarding mastery. The game is developed in Unity for both PC and Mac.
