Christian Hawira-Seanoa

Ākonga, is a figurative look into the inter-relationship between mātauranga Māori and western knowledge systems. This is presented through poutama (stair like pattern). In the process of my paintings, I have allowed wairua to govern my mind and brush. My kaupapa is to find synergy between the two different systems, so that knowledge of all things can flourish without conflict, and that all knowledge is treated fairly.
