My research and practice investigates the relationship between the body and psyche, and the enmeshment of illness. I focus on the expression of chronic illness, specifically the ‘ill-health metaphor’ by creating a visual narrative of my own ill-health experience. By drawing the unseen and exploring how an external influence shifts perspective, I illuminate the overlooked. The work appears abstract yet imitates the rigidity of clinical interaction against the emotive experience of chronic illness.
