This project explored the use of communication systems in the alpine, with the intention of improving safety in the mountains. The project resulted in a two part communication system, consisting of an alpine appropriate radio unit, and a hands free headset. The headset utilises bone conduction technology, keeping users ear canals open to picking up ambient sounds. The headset is charged within a nesting system in the radio.
