This project aims to reduce radiation exposure to medical staff using fluoroscopy machines. Fluoroscopy is essentially a video x-ray that allows staff to see movement inside the body. The process produces scatter radiation which hits staff members, over a career this radiation can cause brain cancer and cataracts.
Using specific materials that attenuate radiation I have created a face shield that is ergonomic, desirable and most importantly protects from brain cancer and cataracts.
