Safe Spaces is an earthquake safety and education network created in response to the prevalence of earthquakes in the Wellington region. This project consists of an immersive augmented reality experience located at the lookout on Tangi Te Keo, Mount Victoria and network of safety beacons at community gathering points throughout the region. Participants are guided through information including high-risk zones, local knowledge, historical information, and the location of the safety beacons. This project uses immersive experiences to educate and inform the public so that they are better prepared in case of an earthquake emergency
