The Bath
The Glass Tower

Bachelor of Design with Honours

Reverence investigates the intersection of the sacred and the secular and proposes an adaptive reuse of St Gerard’s Church and Monastery into a public bathhouse. The program facilitates a spiritual journey through a bathing experience, using light, water, and the existing Gothic Revival heritage architecture to facilitate a connection between its religious past and its new purpose. It aims to explore how the secularization of sacred spaces can occur through the notion of reverence.
