An urban gardening hub for intergenerational learning

This adaptive reuse project combines ideas of urban agriculture and vertical gardening with the conversion of a Wellington CBD parking building into an intergenerational learning hub. Drawing from rich histories of gardening by local Māori and Chinese communities, the project imagines future generations growing up to once again achieve food sovereignty: “local food, local control.” Growing Up suggests that sustainable cities are not designed, but grown over time and across generations.
