My collection of contemporary needlework and embroidery designs has helped me to reconnect with my Niuean ancestry. I have interpreted Niuean flora, traditional patterns, and colour, and used motifs and the language to show my journey of reconnection. Through the use of hand-drawn motifs, digital embroidery, digital print and screen-printing techniques, I have created textiles that celebrate Niuean material culture and bring it to the forefront.
