As Writer and Editor on Escape the Hunt, I was in charge of helping to develop and tell the story. I learned a lot about how to write well-rounded and unique characters. Through this project, I also discovered a love for sound design by undertaking the work of Sound Designer. It was very fulfilling working to make the sound amazing, and I learned a lot through this process.
Escape the Hunt is an action-comedy short film that aims to empower communities within Aotearoa, and show the strength of teamwork. When Ariki, Brandon and Jason are forced together during an attack on their local community centre, they must learn to recognise each other’s strengths to escape. When they draw the attention of escaped convicts, and their own chances of escape look grim, the trio must find a way to work together to save themselves and their fellow community members.
