For my final year I lead a team through the rollercoaster that is developing my story Escape The Hunt. Having this opportunity has allowed me to learn more about everyone's else’s roles and I believe it has made me a more well rounded creator. I am grateful for this opportunity to have one of my stories come to life as well as learn so many practical techniques of filmmaking.
Escape the Hunt is an action-comedy short film that aims to empower communities within Aotearoa, and show the strength of teamwork. When Ariki, Brandon and Jason are forced together during an attack on their local community centre, they must learn to recognise each other’s strengths to escape. When they draw the attention of escaped convicts, and their own chances of escape look grim, the trio must find a way to work together to save themselves and their fellow community members.
